FALLS HOTTEST HAIR TRENDS

From curtain bangs to bespoke colour consider this your go-to guide for some of the hottest heads of the season.

I wonder if you’ve noticed the trend pattern we have going on for the last couple of years. Trends don’t really change, they shift. Styles tend to shift around year after year with a tiny added extra to spice them up. A/W 18 trends seem much more relaxed than last year’s hair trends. Don’t try harder! the messier, the sexier. These looks can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be, you decide!

This season some of the most popular hairstyles to hit the runway are  90’s inspired accessories like bobby pins and banana clips, super sleeked back hair do’s, free-flowing waves, messy top knots and half up half down hair do’s which look almost undone like you hoped out of bed with style and let’s not forget the very popular bangs that have been quiet for a while, everyone seems to be getting bangs these days.

Accessories are back and officially on trend! Get out your bobby pins, combed tooth headbands, ribbons and scarves and put them to use because accessories will be the new way to pull back your hair. They are perfect for the low maintenance type of girl that wants something easy and pretty to dress up her look.

Lately, fringes seem to be taking over our runways. The two most popular styles right now would be curtain bangs and the French girl fringe which will only get shorter and choppier as we move further into 2018.

Curtain bangs are back and definitely staying for a while. Celebrities have been doing their part by showing us just how versatile this look can be for every and any hair type, length, and style. The best part of curtain bangs is that they can either be moved forward to create a frame around your face or tuck it back to open up to a brighter you.

The French girl fringe had a massive increase in searches for the last month or two. The whiskey and tousled look has taken the industry by storm. Good advice when going for this look is to try and not go too short, the best length is when it grazes your eye with the ends feathery, avoiding a blunt cut.

A return to foiling has surprised us all, something we’ve never thought would be back this soon. A more golden look with shimmering different tones in the hair coming from the root has made its way back on trend.

For once brass is a good thing! Bespoke colour is no longer something of the past. Soft multi-coloured highlights, caramel tones, brighter, bolder and spicier shades are what our hair heads seem to be opting for this year.

Last but not least. A few styles that have made many appearances lately is braids, time-lapsed ponytails, jaw and mid-length cuts, blunt bangs, center-parted and wavy hair, and bobs that seem to be going nowhere. Now we all know that these can get quite messy at times but let’s look at the bright side, they’re stylish and fun and are sure to represent a real trend for the cold season.

This year is all about cuts, accessories and sleek textures.  The world of beauty is a wonderful place for creativity so start climbing out of your comfort zone and let the experimenting begin.
